How Recycling your Metal Can Help the Environment

We all know that recycling is supposed to be good for the environment and that we should recycle where possible, but how many of us are aware of the reasons for recycling where metal is concerned? Recycling metal can aid in the prevention of visual pollution. Metal is acquired through the mining of metal ores and most metal ores are found in untouched, desolate landscapes. Due to recycling less Greenhouse gasses such as Carbon Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide, Nitrous Oxide and Water Vapour are being produced each year. Although global warming has not been halted, the extent of its effects are being lessened through recycling and so we are preserving the Earth for our children and our children’s children. Did you know that the polar ice is shrinking at a rate of about 3% every decade? This is one of the reasons as to why recycling is so important, as with the polar ice melting the sea levels will rise which could further increase the temperature of the Earth.

If we were to recycle everything we could, including our metal, rather than wasting or binning what we consider to be rubbish there would be less of a need for Landfill sites.
